Evidence of Impact

How can you tell that your service is achieving this outcome? How can you tell that it is making an impact?

The impact of our services can make differences for people in their:

  • Knowledge and understanding
  • Skills
  • Attitudes and values
  • Enjoyment, inspiration and creativity
  • Activity, behaviour and progression

Example

'Young people become more confident about themselves as readers'

If your service is working to achieve this outcome, how can you tell that a difference is happening for the young people involved? What might be the evidence of impact? It could include the following:

  • Young people take risks in their reading
  • Young people are more confident in talking about their reading experiences with their peers and with adults
  • Young people are reading more widely
  • Young people see themselves as readers

Step 2 - Identify Evidence of Impact 

Consider what might be the evidence of impact for the outcome you have selected to work on, and note this in column 2 of your Planning table.

Once you have identified evidence of impact, you can then decide the best Service Activity to put in place to achieve your chosen outcome.
